High-Gloss Air Dry Clay Varnish & Sealer (75ml) – Non-Toxic & Quick-Dry
Ran out of your favourite S&C clay gloss varnish glaze? Need more shine for more creations?
Say hello to our Air Dry Clay Gloss Varnish Glaze (75ml)—the same juicy, glossy top coat included in our DIY clay kits, just in a bigger, better bottle.
This beginner-friendly glaze is perfect for giving your air dry clay creations that shiny, sealed finish without the need for a kiln or fancy tools. It’s easy to apply with a brush, dries clear, and adds a subtle protective layer that makes your pieces look (and feel) just a little more pro.
Whether you’re stocking up after a Sunday & Clay kit binge or just want to give your older pieces a little upgrade, this 75ml bottle goes a long way.
✨ What You’ll Love:
✔️ Glossy Finish – Gives your clay pieces a professional-looking shine
✔️ Quick-Dry, Water-Based – Kid-safe, beginner-friendly, and non-toxic
✔️ Perfect for Air Dry Clay – Designed for our clay, but great for other porous surfaces too
✔️ No Kiln Needed – Just paint it on and let it dry
✔️ More for Less – Same glaze we include in our kits, now in a larger 75ml bottle
✔️ Pairs Perfectly With Our Kits – Works with the 2kg Clay Kit, Mini Clay Kit, and Group Clay Kits
💡 How to Use this Air Dry Clay Varnish:
Once your air dry clay creation is fully dried and painted (if desired), simply brush on a thin layer of the glaze and let it dry for 20-30min. For a higher gloss effect, apply 2–3 thin coats, letting each coat dry in between.
Keep your brush strokes smooth, and store your bottle upright with the lid tightly sealed to prevent drying.
🎨 Works Best With:
- Sunday & Clay Air Dry Clay Kits
- Painted pieces (using acrylic paints)
- DIY home decor, trinket dishes, jewellery holders & more
- Sculptures made during our clay date nights 😉
📦 What’s Included:
- 1 x 75ml bottle of water-based clay gloss varnish glaze
- Enough for multiple projects – depending on how many coats you use
- Safety info: Non-toxic, but recommended for ages 6+ with supervision

FAQs
Does this clay need to be fired in a kiln or oven?
No kiln or oven is required! Our Mini Kit uses premium air-dry clay that hardens naturally within 24–48 hours depending on the thickness of your piece. It’s the perfect way to enjoy pottery from your kitchen table without needing professional equipment.
Is the clay and glaze food-safe or waterproof?
While our air-dry clay is incredibly durable for decorative items (like jewelry dishes, incense holders, or vases), it is not food-safe or 100% waterproof. To give your piece a water-resistant, glossy finish, we recommend adding our High-Gloss Varnish to your order.
What exactly comes in the Mini DIY Clay Kit?
This kit is a complete "pottery studio in a box." It includes 250g of premium air-dry clay, 5 wooden sculpting tool, a sponge for smoothing, a paintbrush, and our signature "Getting Started" guide as well as high gloss varnish. It’s designed to provide everything a beginner needs to make 1–2 small-to-medium pieces.
Is this kit suitable for kids or total beginners?
Absolutely! We designed this kit specifically for beginners and hobbyists. The clay is non-toxic and easy to manipulate, making it a fantastic sensory activity for kids (ages 5+) and a relaxing, creative outlet for adults. No prior "artist" experience is required.
How many things can I make with one Mini Kit?
You can typically create 2 small items (like a pair of coasters or a ring dish) or 1 medium item (like a small succulent pot or a sculptural vase). If you’re planning a larger project, we recommend grabbing an extra 500g Clay Refill Pack to ensure you don't run out!
Does the clay stain clothes or furniture?
Our clay is minimally messy and generally washes out of fabric and off surfaces with just a bit of warm water. However, we always recommend working on a placemat or a piece of baking paper to keep your workspace tidy.
How long will the clay stay fresh if I don't use it right away?
If kept in its original airtight packaging, your clay will stay fresh for several months. Once opened, be sure to store any unused clay in a tightly sealed Ziploc bag or airtight container to prevent it from drying out before your next "clay date."
Can I paint my clay creations once they are dry?
Yes! Once your piece is fully dry (bone-dry), you can use acrylic paints to add color. For a professional, ceramic-like look, finish it off with a coat of our Sunday & Clay Varnish to protect the paint and add a beautiful shine.
